How to use and precautions for pet chest harnesses

Compared to the collars we used to use in the past, the design of pet chest harnesses is more reasonable for dogs.

Because the collar will tightly tighten the dog’s neck, as long as the owner pulls the dog leash hard, it will easily cause the dog to have difficulty breathing. Moreover, the length of the collar is difficult to control. If it is tied too loosely, the dog will easily escape, but if it is tied too tightly, it will easily affect the dog’s normal breathing.

The pet chest harness transfers the force point to the dog’s chest, retaining some of the force below the neck. When the dog rushes forward, the owner can pull the dog leash without worrying about hurting the dog. In addition, because the pet chest harness is worn on the dog in an 8-shaped shape, it is relatively not easy to break free. Therefore, we don’t need to make it too tight for the dog to avoid affecting the dog’s normal activities.

  1. How to use

First, lay the dog’s chest harness flat on the ground and unfold it into the shape of a number 8. Then put the dog’s two front legs in the two circles of the number 8 respectively, then fasten the buttons on the back, and hang the leash. The dog’s chest harness is put on.

Note that the chest harness, like the collar, should not be tied too loose or too tight. It is generally more appropriate to control it to a width that can easily insert two fingers. In addition, the leash should not be too long, and try not to exceed 1.5 meters to ensure that the dog’s actions can be controlled at any time.

  1. Precautions

① When crossing the road and entering and exiting the elevator, we need to pay attention to tightening the leash to avoid accidents with the dog.

② When taking the dog out with a chest harness, the dog should walk parallel to the owner or follow behind. If the dog rushes forward, call it back in time, and then reward the dog to cultivate a good habit of safe dog walking.

③ When the dog is about four months old, that is, after the dog has been vaccinated, we can let it gradually contact and get used to wearing the chest harness, so as to prepare for the subsequent smooth going out.

④ After going out, don’t forget to pay attention to the dog’s pace at all times. If you find the dog making large movements, be prepared to tighten the leash at any time.
